All of our summer learning takes place under the guidance of experienced mentors in the industry. Programs start in June, July and August. This scholarship program will allow students from all socioeconomic backgrounds to connect with the arts via summer programs that may have previously posed a financial challenge to their families.
I look forward to the success of this new scholarship program. The goal of the scholarship program is to promote access and equity to arts education by providing need-based grants to low-income students pursuing summer opportunities. The scholarship application will evaluate financial need and will not include an audition or portfolio component.
To be eligible to apply, students must be entering 6 th — 12 th grade in fall , live in New York State, and select a New York State-based summer arts program including music, theatre, dance, creative writing, fine arts, design, and more. If more applications are received than available funding, scholarships will be awarded based on the most financial need. Housing application deadline is May 1 for both Paris and New York. Open to students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school minimum age: 16 years.
Registration Deadline : April 1 is the application deadline, but applications are accepted until June 1 with a late fee.
The program also helps students create personal portfolios, which is an important part of the design school application process. Program Dates and Requirements : July 8 to Open to rising high school seniors must be at least 16 years old.
This one-week workshop teaches students basic pattern drafting and sewing construction techniques. Middle school students can get in on the fun as well: there are separate workshops for grades Program Dates and Requirements : June 11 to 15 for students in grades , and July 16 to 20 for grades Aspiring designers can take workshops such as "Draping the Dress" during this three-day crash-course program that teaches high school students about launching a career in the fashion industry.
Open to all high school students, but limited spaces available for freshmen and sophomores. This five-week program gives young students the opportunity to build their visual arts portfolios. Fashion technology, video production, and drawing classes are capped at 20 students, allowing for a small and nurturing learning experience. Student even have a chance of being automatically admitted to SCAD for further undergraduate study after the completion of the summer program.
